We are equipped to handle a wide variety of medical conditions, including emergencies. With the capacity to perform many diagnostic procedures in-house, we can often give you immediate answers and start treating your pet faster. In some cases, your pet may require hospitalization and further diagnostic tests.

After Hours Emergency Options

Weekday Evenings and Overnights - You will be transferred to ”SmartVet” a telemedicine triage system where a Registered Veterinary Technician will determine the urgency of your pet's condition. They will help to facilitate either a telemedicine consult or a transfer the nearest facility for in-person care. Currently, weeknight in-person emergency care is only available outside of the Grey-Bruce region - typically Barrie or Guelph. 

 

Weekends and Statutory Holidays -  urgent or emergency care will be provided by our local emergency clinic, Bluewater Veterinary Emergency clinic ( BVEC). Please call our main line at 519 371 7080 to be transferred to BVEC. These services are available starting Friday at 6 pm through to Monday morning at 6 am. Please note that although BVEC operates out of the same building as North Heritage Animal Hospital, they are a separate hospital and do not have access to your pet's medical records.
